7 Apr 2011 to 7 Apr 2013: – two years of Clustrmaps in paysages. (19.4.2013)

ClustrMaps  is a hit counter map widget which allows showing the locations of the visitors of one specific site in a map. Geographer by education, I was interested to know, where the visitors of “Paysages” come from, so I installed the widget on 7 of April 2011. And since this date its running, providing me and the visitors of paysages nice maps with yellow and red dots. More or less one year ago I published a first note about clustrmaps in paysages, – here follows the second. In two year Clustrmaps counted about 28208 readers visiting paysages, the last year from 7. April 2012 to  7. April 2013 14331. Most of the visitors of paysages come from France, followed by visitors from Germany and the U.S.A. About more than 85 % of the visitors come from France, Germany, the USA, Tunisia, & Switzerland (Details see Tab 1.). Compared to the article of 2012, there were more readers from the U.S.A, than from Tunisia, but perhaps this is false-true – the provenience of U.S.A-readers – most of them seem to come from California – is perhaps due to “Google+” and “Facebook”- to socialnetworking. The fact that a large part of the visitors came from France is not surprising, paysages is a francophone Blog, mainly written in French, a blog written mostly for readers in the “francophone world”. So having so many readers in California (5, 35%) is really surprising!

Some articles are written in German, and very rarely paysages provides “posts” in English, – in fact this article is the sixteenth post written in English (290 articles currently). To finish this blogostatistique – the mostly visited article – (as told by the wordpress – Le Monde dashboard) is – 1949 – l‘incendie meurtrier dans la Forêt des Landes (more details in: “Blogpaysages – 100.000 lecteurs”)  Currently since the beginning of paysages – in May 2009 (first English article published on 29 of May 2009) – paysagesreceived 104,191 visitors. The most visited article written in English is still “The Fatal Forest Fire – remembering the “1949 Mega fire””. The most visted article written in German is “Sturm Xynthia : Blick von der Unterhaardt auf La Faute-sur-Mer, L’Aiguillon und Port Leucate”.
